CHANGE is a Pathfinder organisation for NHS England’s Widening Digital Participation Programme.
This program is funded by NHS England, working in partnership with the Tinder Foundation. The Tinder Foundation works to support digital inclusion in the UK. They have helped more than 1.6 million people get the computer skills and confidence they need to help them lead better and healthier lives.
NHS England wants to get more people to engage with health information online to stay healthy and live better. We are doing research on the digital gap for people with learning disabilities to find out what barriers people with learning disabilities face in accessing health information online.
To do our research we have run focus groups, sent out questionnaires, talked to people and tested online health resources like NHS Choices for accessibility. We wrote a report on what we found out and made suggestions for what NHS England could do to improve accessibility of their online resources for people with learning disabilities.
